OUR SWIMMING CARNIVAL

 Cool, fun and excited! That's how I felt at the swimming carnival. Trying to win is what I am doing. When I finished the dolphin dive, I was nervous because it was a tie. On the freestyle, I came second. I liked the dolphin dive.

 Yesterday, we had our swimming carnival in our school pool. I went with our class and when it was my turn, I was so scared and shy because I would not win. When the race finished, I didn't believe I had won all of my races! My mum was so excited and everyone was cheering and happy for me!

OUR AWESOME VISIT TO THE PACIFIC ARTS CENTRE

We learned how to play the drums.

Jack, Zoe and Delta really enjoyed making the putiputi out of harakeke.

Delta even got to make a special headband.

We learned how to dance to the drums. The girls learned their actions first, then the boys.

We enjoyed a delicious Pacific feast together.

Before we left, we went to visit the giant tuna (eel). We had a really great day!

MY FAVOURITE CELEBRATION...

•  is Christmas because it is Jesus's birthday and we have fun.  -Spencer
•  is the Lantern Festival because there are dragon statues and tiger statues with lanterns everywhere. There are lights inside the statues.  -Rayner 
• is my birthday because I get to blow out the candles.  -Anthony 
•  is Halloween because you stay up at night and you get to have lots of candy. -Jorjia
•  is Valentine's Day because I can make a card.   -Maggie
